Welcome to Birds Nest Therapy, my name is Autumn Whitaker.
As the founder,
I understand firsthand the complexities of navigating mental health challenges.
As a trauma survivor, I continue to navigate the realities of triggers, anxiety and
depression. Having personally experienced trauma, I deeply resonate with the
ongoing effort to remain connected to life. My early years were marked by a
constant sense of struggle, which shaped a belief that life was a continuous fight,
making it difficult to simply live. It wasn't until motherhood that I truly grasped the
essence of a parent's love, realizing what had been absent in my own childhood, a
revelation that made my postpartum period particularly challenging. The fear that
my daughter might experience similar pain was overwhelming, blurring the lines
between past trauma and present reality.
My journey took a significant turn when I joined a small mental health practice.
Surrounded by compassionate, genuine, and supportive therapists who believed in their clients' stories and were dedicated to healing, I found a sense of hope. Their knowledge and trustworthiness inspired me, eventually giving me the courage to address my own trauma through therapy.
Birds Nest Therapy was born from a place of love, empathy, and profound understanding. My personal experience highlighted the transformative power of therapeutic support, and while I am not a therapist myself, I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where healing is possible for everyone.
